BIVROST SEIDR - ARCTIC SINGLE MALT WHISKY

Bivrost® SEIDR Single Malt Whisky is crafted at the world’s northernmost distillery in Arctic Norway. Made with Nordic malted barley and glacial meltwater, it undergoes a carefully controlled fermentation before being matured in first-fill Bourbon casks and finished in Brazilian Amburana casks at Arctic temperatures.

The Amburana wood brings a distinctive character of warm cinnamon, sweet spice, vanilla and almond, creating a rich, aromatic and highly distinctive whisky.

NOSE

Honey, vanilla, ripe tropical fruits, warm cinnamon, roasted almonds and sweet aromatic wood, with a subtle hint of marzipan.



PALATE

Rich and rounded, with honey, vanilla, ripe fruit, warm cinnamon and baking spices, followed by sweet aromatic wood and a subtle almond note.



FINISH

A long and pleasant finish.

MYTHOLOGY

In Norse mythology, Seidr was an ancient form of magic associated with prophecy, transformation and the ability to influence the course of events. It was closely connected to the goddess Freyja, who was said to have taught the art of Seidr to Odin.

Seidr represented the mysterious forces that could shape what was yet to come – a practice where knowledge, nature and transformation came together.

The inscriptions and graphic elements on the Bivrost® SEIDR box are inspired by Freyja and the ancient stories of Norse magic, reflecting the mystery, symbolism and transformative power associated with Seidr.

Bivrost® SEIDR takes its inspiration from this ancient Nordic tradition. Through the interaction of spirit, wood and time, the whisky is transformed during its maturation and finishing in Brazilian Amburana casks, creating a rich and distinctive Arctic Single Malt.

CREATION

Bivrost® SEIDR is crafted at the world’s northernmost distillery in Arctic Norway (69°N). Nordic barley malt is brewed with glacial meltwater, followed by a long and complex fermentation before being distilled on our sustainable copper still to create a clean and fruity spirit.

The whisky is initially matured in first-fill Bourbon casks before being finished in Brazilian Amburana casks. This highly aromatic wood transforms the whisky, adding remarkable notes of cinnamon, vanilla, sweet spice and almond. The casks mature under Arctic conditions, where seasonal temperature variations influence the interaction between spirit and wood.

YEAST: Lager yeast (Saccharomyces pastorianus) & Old English ale yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae).

MALT: Pilsener malt made from Nordic barley.

WATER: Water sourced from Elvejordvannet, which receives glacial meltwater from the Lyngen alpine range.

DISTILLED: Distilled with two active plates in our copper pot/column still. Average distillation time ranges between 8–10 hours, with the heart of the undiluted new make spirit collected at approximately 75% ABV.

CASK HANDLING: SEIDR was initially matured in first-fill Bourbon casks before being finished in Brazilian Amburana casks. Amburana is an exceptionally aromatic hardwood, bringing distinctive sweetness, cinnamon, warm spice, vanilla and almond notes to the whisky.

Colour: Deep amber

Nose: Honey, vanilla, ripe tropical fruits, warm cinnamon, roasted almonds and sweet aromatic wood, with a delicate hint of marzipan.

Palate: Rich and rounded with a velvety mouthfeel. Honey, vanilla and ripe fruit are followed by cinnamon, sweet baking spices, almond and warm aromatic wood.

Finish: Long, warming and smooth, with lingering cinnamon, sweet spice, vanilla and a gentle nutty character.

Overall: A rich, sweet and highly distinctive Arctic Single Malt Whisky, transformed through maturation in Bourbon and Brazilian Amburana casks.
