MYTHOLOGY

In Norse mythology, Ratatosk is a squirrel that resides on the world tree Yggdrasil. He scurries up and down the tree with gossip and lies to entertain Nidhogg, preventing the snake from gnawing at the tree’s roots, relaying messages from the bird Vidofnir, who never leaves the top.

Three roots extend from the Yggdrasil tree, with a well at each end: Asgard: Urdarbrønn, where the fate goddesses, the Norns, reside. Nivlheim: Kvergjelme, home to Nidhogg. The third well is Mimir’s well, facing the rimtussar and likely located in Ginnungagap, the deep chasm created by the giant Ymir and the primeval cow Audhumbla, between Nivlheim and Muspelheim.

This highly exclusive limited edition whisky is crafted to commemorate the culmination of the Nine Worlds series, meticulously blending all Nine Worlds together.

THE DISPLAY TREE

Our display piece draws inspiration from Yggdrasil, a colossal and revered tree that acts as the central axis of the cosmos, linking the nine realms of existence.

Yggdrasil is often depicted as upholding the universe, its branches reaching high into the heavens and its roots penetrating deep into the earth’s depths. It serves as a gathering place for gods, creatures, and spirits, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all things in Norse cosmology.
To showcase the Nine Worlds, it seemed fitting to draw inspiration from Yggdrasil, creating a bespoke display piece where the “branches” cradle the bottles of the Nine Worlds.
In mythology, Yggdrasil was an ash tree, so naturally, the display piece is also crafted from ash wood.
