FLAVOUR

An elegant and well-rounded aquavit with fruity sweetness, warm spice, and bright citrus, gently wrapped in soft vanilla and oak. Smooth and full-bodied, with a refined, lingering finish.

ENJOY WITH

Nordic seafood like gravlax, rich and creamy sauces, or simply in fine company by the fire. Whether paired with festive meals or sipped on its own, well chilled, this elegant aquavit complements both traditional fare and modern cuisine.

SERVING TIP

Cask-aged aquavit is best enjoyed slightly chilled, around 12–16°C, to fully appreciate its depth and complexity. Serve it in a tulip-shaped glass or small tumbler to concentrate the aromas. Let it breathe for a moment before sipping. This style of aquavit also pairs beautifully with hearty Nordic dishes, mature cheeses, or even dark chocolate. For a modern twist, try it in a whisky-style cocktail — such as an Aquavit Old Fashioned — to highlight its oak-aged character.

FACTS

Norwegian cask-aged aquavit is deeply rooted in tradition. Much like whisky, it gains complexity, colour, and softness from maturation in oak casks—often barrels that previously held sherry or cognac. This particular aquavit has rested for seven years in small oak casks, allowing for an intense interaction between spirit and wood. The result is a refined and concentrated flavour profile where caraway, spice, and citrus are gently embraced by notes of vanilla, dried fruits, and oak. Far from a simple festive shot, this is a sipping spirit meant to be enjoyed slowly, preferably at 12–16°C in a tulip-shaped glass. With its softened spice and rich depth, it stands proudly among the finest expressions of Nordic distilling craftsmanship.
