"LOKE"

When you least expect it…..

Loke - the trickster

Loke is actually a jötunn (a giant). Despite this, he lives in Asgard and interacts closely with the gods. He is a master of Deception and Shape-shifting. He is a shapeshifter and can transform into various creatures, including a fly, fish, mare, old woman, and even a seal. One of his most famous transformations was when he turned into a mare to seduce the stallion Svaðilfari, resulting in the birth of Sleipnir, Odin’s eight-legged horse.

The Loke symbol

The logo for the Loke series is inspired by an archeological find in Bitterstad, Lofoten, Northern Norway. The pendant, along with other pieces of jewelry and weapons were found in a woman’s grave, and believed to be around 1300 years old. Keep a lookout for this symbol 😉

Fenrir - child of Loke

Fenrir, also known as Fenrisulfr, is a fearsome wolf from Norse mythology. Born to the god Loki and the giantess Angrboða, Fenrir was deeply feared by the gods, as prophecies foretold his central role in Ragnarök – the end of the world. To prevent this fate, the gods bound him with the magical chain Gleipnir. Yet during Ragnarök, Fenrir breaks free and unleashes chaos. He slays Odin, the Allfather, but is ultimately killed by Odin’s son, Víðarr, who avenges his father.

Fenrir - Arctic Single Malt Whisky

Bivrost Fenrir is crafted from a selection of carefully chosen casks. The majority of the whisky comes from 125L Sherry and Bourbon casks, with smaller portions aged in Teak and Rum casks.
This release features some of the oldest stock we have ever bottled, with an average age of 5.5 years. It is also the first Bivrost whisky to be bottled at 50% alc./vol.
The mischievous spirit of Loke is reflected in the flavor profile; blending traditional whisky notes with bold, new-world cask experimentation.
