This week (04. – 07. August) we’re starting the construction of our new warehouse. That means the last bit of the road leading up to the distillery will be closed Tuesday morning to Friday night.
The distillery is still open to visitors; look for designated parking areas, and signs pointing to the distillery (new walk paths have been made). 😊
Aurora Spirit has established a unique distillery that attracts international attention with its spectacular location. The Lyngen Alps, the fjord, the Northern Lights and the Arctic wilderness provide an excellent setting for making whisky and other alcohol products under the brand name Bivrost. The products are based on local herbs, berries and melted glacier water.
Our opening hours for visitors are 11 – 15, MON-FRI. (For special requests and groups, we can offer other options.)
Our most popular experience is the “Arctic Whisky Experience“, which we normally conduct at 12.00 and 14.00 (MON – FRI).

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Do I get to taste Whisky?
Yes, we offer small tastings as part of the guided tours. There is also the opportunity of having a Guided Whisky Tasting, as a separate product that you can book.
Can we buy bottles of Bivrost at the distillery?
Unfortunately, we cannot sell our products directly from the distillery. According to Norwegian law, wine and spirits for personal consumption may only be sold at the Vinmonopolet, the government-run alcohol retailer. An outlet is located approx. 10 km from the distillery.
Is it suitable for children?
The guided tour is suitable for children. We have a child rate for purchase at the front desk. Children can also get a soft drink and wait in the lounge. We will take care of entertaining them.
